How to test Step by Step a TransPort router and recover it

When a TransPort router seems to be failing (so for example when applying the power, the only LED to illuminates is the power LED other “unusual” LED patterns occur), there are some
tests that can be performed on the device in order to recover it or to understand what is corrupted.
