how to update AnywhereUSB Plus from older 3.x, 19.x, or 20.x firmware to latest firmware

If you are running a 3rd generation (G3) AnywhereUSB Plus product like AW02-G300, AW08-G300, AW24-G300 or the WiFi variants, you can find latest firmware on their product support web pages. When selecting "previous v" you might be able to also download old versions up to a certain history. You won't find any older firmware versions like 3.x, 19.x, or 20.x there.

If you are still with an old 3.x, 19.x, 20.x firmware, you need to perform a stepwise incremental update, e.g. from 3.x you update to 19.x firmware, from 19.x to 20.x, from 20.x to 22.11.x, and from 22.11.x to the latest version (e.g. version 24.12 in April 2025) or newer.

When updating from the web interface of the hub, you can find the older firmware files to download here (see the specific files with the hardware and revision name in their file names):

https://ftp1.digi.com/support/firmware/anywhereusbplus/

e.g. when updating your AW02-G300 from firmware version 3.0, update to this file first:

https://ftp1.digi.com/support/firmware/anywhereusbplus/82004379_19.11.72.85_AW02_EOS_B.bin

After updating, reboot the hardware, login again, to find the newer firmware, then proceed with updating to the next version:

https://ftp1.digi.com/support/firmware/anywhereusbplus/82004379_20.5.38.58_AW02_EOS_E.bin

From 20.5.38.58, you need to update to version 22.11.48.10 first which you find on:

https://hub.digi.com/support/products/infrastructure-management/digi-anywhereusb-2-plus/?path=/support/asset/anywhereusb-2-plus-dal-eos/

under "previous v". When running 22.11.48.10 you can directly update to the latest version.
